I should explain. There are twelve finalists in the New Yorker's Annual Eustace Tilley Contest, which challenges readers to reinterpret Rea Irvin's design of the magazine's mascot dandy. My entry,
"Schach Treatment", (above) was one of the twelve winning designs for the 2009 competition, and it's the only one of my entries that ever made it to the finals. (These aren't actual New Yorker magazine covers, just designs conforming to the contest's parameters.)
